Main functions of the program:

• b/w or color image acquisition with a TV/digital camera or scanner. The images can be opened from files in BMP, .PCX, .GIF, .TIF formats, pasted from clipboard, loaded from the image database (VisusImage-Album 3.0)
• image enhancement and annotation
• acquire images of powders, thin and polished sections, their enhancement and editing
• ability to obtain a resultant sharp image from the series of images acquired with various focus depth
• manual and automatic thresholding the objects of interest (grains, pores, phases, inclusions, etc.)
• object measurements (sizes, shape, position, brightness, density, etc.)
• classification of objects and statistical treatment of the analysis results
• three pre-installed methodics (macros): Count and Size (Example), Grain Sizing (Example), Phase Analysis (Example)
• additional methodics can be included
• ability to copy and modify the methodics
• ability to create new methodics to automate the routine operations
• VisusImage-Album 3.0 image database included

New methodics (macros) for grain sizing analysis in accordance with ASTM E 1382 - 97 and Е 930 - 92, ISO 643, GOST 5639 - 82 are available.
