Main functions of the program:

• b/w or color image acquisition with a TV/digital camera or scanner. The images can be opened from files in BMP, .PCX, .GIF, .TIF formats, pasted from clipboard, loaded from the image database (VisusImage-Album 3.0)
• image enhancement and annotation
• acquisition of the slide images, their enhancement and editing
• ability to obtain a resultant sharp image from the series of images acquired with various focus depth (Example)
• manual and automatic thresholding the objects of interest (cells, nuclei, areas of different color or brightness, etc.)
• object measurements (sizes, shape, position, brightness, density, etc.)
• classification of objects and statistical treatment of the analysis results
• five pre-installed methodics (macros): Count and Measure, Volume Fraction (Example), Platelet Count (Example), Erythrocyte Sizing (Example), Nucleus-Cytoplasm Ratio (Example)
• additional methodics can be included
• ability to copy and modify the methodics
• ability to create new methodics to automate the routine operations
