VisusImage-Master (Structure) software
provides an ability to measure the areas of phases (image
regions that differ in brightness or color) on the images
of polished or thin sectrions and estimate their percentage.
1.
First Phase 1 is thresholded
(white).
2.
Then Phase 2 (light gray) and Phase 3
(dark gray) are thresholded.
3.
Then Phase 4 (black) is thresholded.
The area fractions of all phases are measured. The data
are accumulated in the class table (in the
bottom).
